Thoughts: Filled with boyish charm and an intriguing mystery of a Jamican treasure, I give Aaron Blaylock's debut novel, The Land of Look Behind, a 2.5 out of 5 stars--a good book (it wasn't terrible, but at the same time it wasn't the greatest thing I've ever read).
The Land of Look Behind shifts between two narrators--Benjamin Jarvis (a British lieutenant) and Gideon Goodwin (a recent return missionary)--as the two, in different periods of time, search for a Jamacian treasure that ultimately restores a purpose to each man's life.
Blaylock's novel is perfect for anyone who craves adventure, but wants to enjoy it safely from his or her living room.
